AbstractUrination patterns and frequencies of healthy individuals, individuals with disorders, and patients with dementia vary widely. At nursing facilities, most hospitalized patients experience urinary incontinence and lower urinary tract diseases. In addition, the case of nocturia is a controversial topic (Song, 2004). In circumstances when urine is not normal, potentially due to excessive flow, caregivers experiences a significant physical and mental load. The necessity to eliminate the stench and clean the stained bedsheets and garments, adds to the work load. Furthermore, in individuals with urine incontinence, if the diaper is not changed at the appropriate time, problems such as extramammary Paget disease, dermatitis, and bedsores might emerge (Cho, 2009).Keywords: smart diaper, urination, automatic suction of urine, artificial intelligence
